Real ID Act Updates

In January 14, 2019
Planning a vacation takes a lot of work. There’s a lot to consider from purchasing tickets, packing, and even trying not to miss your flight. The last thing a traveler needs to worry about is being turned away at the gate due to not having proper identification.

The Real ID Act deadline will be here sooner than we think. The REAL ID Act was established by Congress in 2005 to combat identify theft and increase national safety. A handful of states have received extensions on the original deadline in order to become REAL ID compliant. Travelers should plan to get their paperwork in soon to avoid the inevitable long lines at the DMV. The national deadline of October 1, 2020 is approaching.
